We also create original and insightful content together with academics and commercial partners.

Our Content:

Over the past year, our content has generated substantial attention in the science community and the wider audience. Our carefully curated Insights reports represent a high-quality special collection of articles created in collaboration with leading experts and scientists in their field. Each article showcases recent, groundbreaking research paper or project with significant impact, supported by credible and well-referenced sources. Every month, we invite specialists from the academia and beyond to give talks on our online-based Researcher Live event platform. Through our content, we foster engaging discussions and facilitate the widespread dissemination of knowledge.

You will have sufficient training in the first days of your role and will be able to continuously communicate with our Managing Editor through our Slack channel.

If you are interested in gaining skills in a start-up environment, learn how to put together exciting and meaningful content pieces to help the research community, we encourage you to apply.

What we expect of this role:

  • Ability to handle technical difficulties in stride
  • Writing engaging, well-references and accurate scientific articles (linked examples can be found here and here)
  • Appreciation for feedback and eagerness to improve, particularly in terms of writing skills and style

What we are looking for:

  • PhD students, Postdoctoral Researchers, Practitioners, Professors or Lecturers within Life Sciences or Medicine.
  • Organised and resourceful individuals who can leverage their connections in the science community and their scientific understanding to produce high-quality content for our website and app
  • Excellent scientific and non-scientific communication skills, as well as confidence in hosting events online
  • Article referencing skills and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for assimilating and processing scientific information from different fields and disciplines in order to produce quality written materials
  • You need to have the resilience and positivity to keep trying when things are hard or don’t go right the first time.
  • Some specific examples of experience in academia, life sciences, publishing, pharmaceuticals, sales or marketing in media would be an advantage.

What we can offer you:

  • You will have the opportunity to enrich your career portfolio showcasing any events you organised and chaired. Articles written by you for our Insights reports will be under your name and will help you develop a list of published scientific writing
  • You will receive expert feedback and enhance your scientific writing skills in collaboration with our Managing Editor
  • We will help you develop skills outside academia, invest in your personal development, helping you gain skills and experiences that will support you through your career - whether academic or not

How we work:

You will work from home, using Slack to communicate with our Managing Editor. Opportunities for jobs will be listed regularly which you can volunteer to take on. Assistance will be available to you as needed.
