Berlin/London/Stockholm, Nov 30, 2022. Reviewer Credits (RC), the global expert network that makes peer review visible and helps researchers get recognition for their work, is partnering with the platforms Researcher and OA.mg. Together, the three partners will mark articles for which reviews have been registered by RC so readers can trust the integrity of the academic content.
“Reviewers suffer from the lack of visibility of their work, which is so vital for upholding the highest quality standards in scholarly publishing”, says Dr. Sven Fund, Managing Director of Reviewer Credits. “One of the important journeys is to remind readers and users of articles that a lot of invisible work went into preparing and vetting content, and that is exactly what we are doing with Researcher and OA.mg.”
“We're delighted to highlight the vital role of reviewers further with this collaboration”, says Olly Cooper, Researcher’s CEO. “Especially in Open Science, quality is key, and safeguarding these values is core to our mission at OA.mg”, adds Johann Gross, the company’s co-founder.
Every year, millions of peer reviews are written by researchers volunteering their time. In contrast to actively authoring a scientific article themselves, reviewers contribute in a mostly invisible way. Their contribution to scholarly publishing is key to identifying quality research.
